It’s finally here: Dining for NMO Day! Today only, on Monday, October 19th, restaurants from all over the world will donate a portion of proceeds to the Guthy Jackson Foundation, the leading Neuromyelitis Optica/NMO advocacy organization in support and research for this rare, debilitating disease that caused my vision loss.
Dining for NMO Day is coming to a close in Vietnam, which is twelve hours ahead of my Central time zone. I’ve heard from staff and patrons of Noir – Dining in the Dark that the menu I created exclusively for them for this day only was a hit.
For the rest of us Americans, we are in the middle of our Dining for NMO Day. Tonight, I’m showing my support for my hometown of Houston by doing a food crawl between the local participating restaurants: Dak and Bop, MKT BAR, and closing out the night at Prohibition Supper Club & Bar. If you’re in Houston, join me for a bite and beverage. If you’re elsewhere, check out the Dining for NMO website to find a participating restaurant near you.
Thank you to everyone who solicited a restaurant, volunteered your restaurant, and/or dined out in one of the restaurants! Together, let’s find a cure.
