A week ago, on October 27th, my husband and I celebrated our silver wedding anniversary. 25 years together is a major milestone, but given all that we’ve been through in the last 4 months, this anniversary was especially meaningful. Our plans to spend our anniversary in Whistler unfortunately had to be scuttled. We were both really disappointed, but it couldn’t be helped.
Luckily, the weather on the 27th was absolutely beautiful so we opted to spend the morning at Stanley Park, which is the jewel of the city and my most favourite place in Vancouver. We took our Lab, Indy with us and walked a good chunk of the seawall. We stopped for coffee at the totem poles and kicked up leaves in the massive piles near Lumberman’s Arch.
Afterwards, we drove over to Granville Island and had lunch al fresco. I shopped the market for goodies for dinner (Chicken souvlaki skewers for the BBQ, sundried tomato pesto pasta salad and a box of beautiful little cakes from our favourite bakery.) It was a simple celebration, but a good one.
November is gearing up to be a super busy month. The UBC NMO Patient Information Day is taking place on November 28th. If you are local and would like to attend, you can sign up now. Registration is FREE. Information and links to register are here.
